Dr Buddhini Abeysiri – Specialist Anaesthetist


Dr Buddhini Abeysiri completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Hons) from the University of Sydney in 1996. Between 1996 and 2000 she was an intern / resident at Westmead Hospital (Sydney), before commencing her anaesthesia training in 2000, becoming a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2005. In 2006 she undertook a Fellowship at Addenbrookes Hospital (Cambridge), returning to Australia in 2007 to take up positions as a consultant anaesthetist at Austin and Box Hill Hospitals (Melbourne). Today she continues to practice at these hospitals, while also undertaking a wide range of anaesthesia across many surgical specialities at Epworth Healthcare and other major private hospitals including Ramsey Health, Healthscope and St Vincent Private Hospital Group.
Dr Abeysiri is actively involved in the clinical teaching programs of Austin and Box Hill hospitals, where she enjoys teaching anaesthesia trainees, residents, paramedics and medical students. She also is actively involved in simulation training and crisis management training with Box Hill Hospital. Dr Abeysiri is also interested in perioperative medicine, recently enrolling in the 2017 short course in Perioperative Medicine through Monash University.
Recent qualifications acquired by Dr Abeysiri as part of her continuing medical education include: Train the Trainer (Monash Simulation 2015), Regular Updates in Perioperative Ultrasound (Austin Health 2016 and St Vincent’s hospital 2017), Advanced Life Support 2 (Australian Resuscitation Council 2016), and Emergency Management of Anaesthesia Crises (Monash University 2016). She is an examiner for Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists final and part 1 examinations trial vivas at Box Hill Hospital.
Dr Abeysiri’s goal is to provide high quality and safe anaesthesia to every patient she cares for.

Dr Guo Min Liu – Specialist Anaesthetist

He is the first anaesthetist from China who has dual Chinese and Australian specialist qualifications. He was one of the first Chinese specialists to be train overseas - initially in Denmark and then coming here on a scholarship to work with the late Victor Chang in Sydney.

Dr  Gabriel Chan  – Anaesthetist at Western Gastroenterology

Originally from Perth. Loves his work as an anaesthetist and is also an excellent GP. Works in a number of endoscopy centres across Melbourne.

Trivia fact - his brother who was also a medical doctor acted as one of the Power Ranger! 

Dr Su Lin Ng – Surgical Assistant

Dr Su Lin is a GP in the western suburbs of Melbourne. She has experience working with plastic surgeons and dermatologist in Penang. And is also quite a formidable tennis player. 

Dr Jaya Vikraman  - Surgical Assistant

Dr Jaya is an experienced surgical assistant having worked as at Austin, Royal Children's hospital and Echuca.  Her late father, Dr Vikraman,  was one of Dr LP Cheah's teachers at Western Hospital, Footscray.

Dr Nagesh is an experienced general surgeon who has previously worked in RMH, Western hospital, Werribee, Bacchus Marsh and John Fawkner. He offers a wealth of wisdom from his vast experience in England, Sydney,  India and Melbourne.
